Originally living in southern Tyrol in Italy and then moving to Korb in southern Germany, the Schatz family has been producing first-class wines since 1641. Friedrich Schatz, the owner of the winery, acquired the family winemaking business in 1982, with the intention of producing sophisticated wines. He replanted ancient vineyards, once cultivated by the Iberians and Romans in the city of Acinipo. The owner also introduced modern technology into the cellar, as well as a complete renovation of most of the winemaking rooms. Initially living in South Tyrol, Italy, and then migrating first to southern Germany, to Korb, the Schatz family has been producing first-class wines in several regions since 1641.
